I ordered this system to be used with a whole house audio system. In addition to AM/FM, CD and iPod, I also have my TV audio output connected to the 'Audio In' jack, so I can listen to the TV from multiple rooms. I'm not using the speakers (so I can't rate the quality) because I have it connected directly to the input of a 12 channel audio amplifier. It works great and sound quality is excellent. I just wish the 'audio in' jack was on the back instead of the front panel (would look much better). Haven't had a chance to use the bluetooth feature yet.
I am a happy camper because the setup was easy and everything works as it should and sounds great in my small living room. I wanted a compact stereo system with Bluetooth so that I could stream Internet radio music from my laptop to the stereo system. I can play music from my Sony Ericsson mobile phone and music from my Sony VAIO laptop. Almost every device I have is Sony, so I always look for Sony first, because I like their products and technical support. I didn't need the i-Pod docking station, but I bought this system anyway because it had what I wanted and I liked the reviews. There are a lot of Internet radio stations that play classical music and the sound comes through beautifully on this Bluetooth system. Ann
The CMT-BX50BTi was purchased Dec. It plays very well and mutes itself when a call comes in.Radio presets are simple to set and the FM tuner is sharp. We'll probably hook up her new HDTV when the old CRT unit becomes useless. If you have or can find a set of quality, ported, 6-Ohm book-shelf speakers to replace the stock units, you will enjoy the difference. It has proven to be a great move. They were slightly larger but matched the impedence which is important.All-in-all, I highly recommend the feature rich CMT-BX50BTi. The unit's speakers and CD drawer eject switch are the only "cons" in my opinion. 2008 as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend at a "volume" outlet (Sorry Amazon) locally. The display is crisp and clear. The front stereo input jack comes in handy for Aux play of almost any audio device.Power is ample for her large bedroom.
Oh, a mute button would be nice. The pros are many:Bluetooth pairing with my HTC/Dash smartphone stuffed with 2gig of 192 bit music was a joy to experience. Thankfully my friend had some nice JVC speakers from the previous stereo we chunked onto the curb. I only wish I bought 2 at the super price back then.
I like the size, sound, bluetooth and IPod capabilities. I have always been a Sony fan but I really scrutinize my purchases anymore. I looked at several brands before settling on the CMTBX50BTi. It also has CD player.I know Sony likes the black finish and it looks good but it makes it difficult to see the controls and labels. I also would prefer to have control knobs, especially for the volume.Overall though I am happy with the purchase and the price was decent for a new model.
This is one way to have sat. Only reason this is four stars, is believe it or not, this unit does not have a mute button. That is unreal in this day and age.The bluetooth works perfectly, I can stream audio from my laptop and from Sirius radio. radio in the home when an antenna is not possible. For as small as this is the sound is quite good. Very happy with this purchase.
